Volunteers on the planning committee are currently working on incorporating feedback from previous years as well as reenergizing the festival with new activities to continue to engage the growing audience. As a result, the festival committee has identified that there is a need for more volunteers to grow with the event. There are volunteer opportunities for people with experience in technology, promotions and marketing, event planning and many others. The 2013 event will include favorites, such as the parade, craft show, Mrs. Claus’ Pantry bake sale and pageantry events, as well as the return of contests, such as turkey bowling and Santa’s treasure hunt.
Implementing each of these parts of the festival takes time and planning from volunteers. As the momentum for the festival increases throughout the summer and fall, anyone who is willing to share their time and talents in support of the local community would be welcome to join the Dalton Holidays Festival planning efforts.
One of the most popular aspects of the festival that requires much effort and organization from volunteers is the craft show. The Dalton Holidays Festival craft show has a reputation for featuring unique, handmade items from artisans throughout Ohio. Craft exhibitors are encouraged to submit an application, which is then reviewed by the festival committee before approval. The committee is now accepting application forms for the 2013 Dalton Holidays Festival craft show.
